NEW YORK -- Peyton Manning has responded to a lost season the way he reacted to all of his great seasons. Wholesale Nike Air Max From China . By having more great seasons. Manning was the only unanimous choice for the 2013 Associated Press NFL All-Pro team Friday. It was his seventh time as a first-teamer, tying Hall of Famer Otto Graham for the most by a quarterback. The Denver star set NFL records this season with 55 touchdown passes and 5,477 yards through the air. He was chosen on all 50 ballots from media members who regularly cover the NFL. Manning also was an All-Pro for Indianapolis in 2003, 04, 05, 08 and 09 and last season made it as a Bronco. Hes been on the All-Pro team in both seasons since missing 2011 after several neck surgeries. "I think its well documented that this is the second chapter of my career, and didnt know what to expect off that injury and new team, new players and new physical state after an injury," said Manning, a four-time league MVP who never missed a pro start before 2011. "So I had no idea what to expect, and Ive put a lot of time and a lot of hard work in to it. But Ive received a lot of help along the way from coaches and trainers and strength coaches and teammates. So Im very grateful." Manning still has a ways to go to set the record for most All-Pro appearances at any position. Among the players ahead of him is Hall of Fame receiver Jerry Rice with 10. New Orleans tight end Jimmy Graham and Indianapolis outside linebacker Robert Mathis each drew 49 votes. Philadelphia running back LeSean McCoy and Seattle cornerback Richard Sherman had 48. Minnesota kick returner Cordarrelle Patterson was the only rookie on the squad. Eighteen NFC players and nine from the AFC made the team. Carolina and Philadelphia each had three: linebacker Luke Kuechly, centre Ryan Kalil and fullback Mike Tolbert for the Panthers; NFL rushing leader McCoy, guard Evan Mathis and tackle Jason Peters for the coach Chip Kellys Eagles. "Just when Chip came here, we knew we were going to run the ball," McCoy said. "The linemen, theyve all been healthy this whole year. Theyve been blocking so well for me and without those guys, its not possible." Only two members of the top teams in each conference made the All-Pro team. Joining Manning from the Broncos (13-3) was guard Louis Vasquez. Joining Sherman from the Seahawks (13-3) was safety Earl Thomas. "It is very special, especially in a special season," Sherman said. "If youre having a special season and your team has four wins or five wins, Im sure it doesnt feel as good. But when your team is winning, your defence is No. 1 in every category and youre just contributing, youre not even trying to do anything special individually, youre just contributing to the entire group. It really feels special. And with the chance to do what we have a chance to do this year, it would be fantastic." Unlike Sherman, many of the players chosen did not enjoy huge team success this season: 12 of the 27 failed to make the playoffs. Rounding out the offence were receivers Calvin Johnson of Detroit and Josh Gordon of Cleveland; running back Jamaal Charles of Kansas City; and tackle Joe Thomas of Cleveland. Other All-Pros on defence were ends J.J. Watt of Houston and Robert Quinn of St. Louis; tackles Gerald McCoy of Tampa Bay and Ndamukong Suh of Detroit; outside linebacker Lavonte David of Tampa Bay; inside linebacker NaVorro Bowman of San Francisco; cornerback Patrick Peterson of Arizona; and safety Eric Berry of Kansas City. The special teamers were Patterson, kicker Justin Tucker of Baltimore and punter Johnny Hekker of St. Louis. One of 15 first-time All-Pros, Kuechly was last seasons Defensive Rookie of the Year. "Its an individual award, but its a representation of the team," he said. "You got to always remember that you have four guys in front of you. You got the other linebackers, the coaches and the DBs behind you that make everything possible." Overall, 16 clubs were represented on the All-Pro team: Denver, Kansas City, Cleveland, Baltimore, Houston and Indianapolis in the AFC; Philadelphia, Carolina, Seattle, Detroit, St. Louis, Tampa Bay, New Orleans, Arizona, Minnesota and San Francisco in the NFC. DETROIT - Cam Ward had 28 saves, and the Carolina Hurricanes ended a quarter-century of regular-season futility in Detroit, beating the Red Wings 2-1 on Friday night. Air Force 1 Outlet Italia . The Hurricanes hadnt won a regular-season game at Detroit since Nov. 14, 1989, when they were still the Hartford Whalers. They did win Game 1 of the 2002 Stanley Cup finals at Detroit, but that was their only victory of that series. Elias Lindholm and Jiri Tlusty scored in the first period Friday, and Carolina held on to hand the Red Wings their second regulation loss in eight games. Riley Sheahan scored for the Red Wings in the third period. Detroit has already clinched its 23rd straight post-season berth, and the Hurricanes are out of the running. The Red Wings outshot Carolina 29-19 but ended up with what could be a costly loss in the race for playoff seeding. Detroit will be a wild card in the Eastern Conference, so the Red Wings will face either Boston or Pittsburgh in the first round. With 91 points, Detroit is tied with Columbus, and each team has one game remaining. Philadelphia also has 91 points with two games to play. Lindholm opened the scoring on the power play, and Tlusty made it 2-0 when he banged a rebound past goalie Jimmy Howard. Early in the second, Detroits Tomas Jurco skated in on a semi-breakaway but couldnt put the puck past Ward. At the other end, Eric Staal flipped the puck over a sprawling Howard, only to have Red Wings defenceman Jakub Kindl bat it out of the air with his stick. Detroits Justin Abdelkader had much of the net to shoot at when a rebound came his way later in the second, but his attempt went wide. Sheahan finally jammed the puck past Ward on a power play with 16:17 to play in the game, but Ward made a fine pad save on Abdelkader with about 9:30 remaining, thwarting a 2-on-1 by Detroit and keeping the Hurricanes ahead. Darren Helms impressive open-ice move also went for naught when Ward stopped him in close. The Carolina-Hartford franchise had 16 losses and a tie since its previous victory at Detroit in the regular season. Here, we take a look at the Frenchmans impressive return to action… Samir Nasri has been something of a forgotten man during his injury absence at City, but his performance against West Brom was as eye-catching as his bleached blond hairstyle.Five months after suffering a serious knee injury in October, the 28-year-old marked his return to Manuel Pellegrinis starting line-up with a winning goal that significantly boosted Citys top-four prospects after a dismal run of two wins from their previous seven Premier League games. His accomplished all-round performance was a timely reminder of what he is capable of. The big-money arrivals of Kevin De Bruyne and Raheem Sterling had thrown his future at the club into doubt even before his injury, but he played like a man with a point prove against West Brom - and Pep Guardiola will have liked what he saw. Samir Nasri speaks to Sky Sports about his return from injury against West Brom Nasri lined up on the left-hand side of an attacking City XI as Pellegrini rotated his side for Tuesdays Champions League showdown with Paris St Germain, and in the absence of De Bruyne and David Silva, he took on the role of creator-in-chief right from the start. He played the game as if he really, really enjoyed himself and he controlled it, said Sky Sports pundit Niall Quinn. From the first minute City really went to town on that left side. All day they were trying to find areas to get in behind the West Brom players. It was great to see that from Nasri.Opta tracking data showed 42.5 per cent of Citys attacks came down their left flank compared to 24.6 per cent through the centre and 32.9 per cent down the right, and it was Nasris excellent combination play with the overlapping Aleksandar Kolarov that brought the penalty for Sergio Agueros equalising goal. Sergio Aguero scored Manchester Citys equaliser from the penalty spot Kolarov wasntt the only City player to enjoy linking up with their No 8. Yeezy 700 Scontate Outlet . Nasri completed 64 of his 67 passes over the course of the 90 minutes - more than anyone else on the pitch. The former Arsenal man constantly made himself available for his team-mates, and he also laid on three scoring chances as City sought to extend their lead. His composed passing in deep positions allowed City to launch counter-attacks, and he impressed without the ball as well as with it. He was brilliant, added Quinn. He worked off the ball, he won tackles and he set things up. When he had the ball he was their most creative player.Nasris work-rate was illustrated by the fact that only two City players covered more ground than his 10.61km, with one 60-yard burst putting him in position to coolly slide the winning goal through James Chesters legs midway through the second half. Nasri scored for City on his return to the starting line-up Nasri spotted the danger when De Bruyne won possession high up the pitch on the opposite flank, and as City worked the ball across the West Brom box, Nasri was exactly where he needed to be to finish it off. He reads things, and he felt something was going to come his way, said Quinn. Every season youll get five or six goals if you make that run, added Thierry Henry.Nasris energy and creativity made a considerable difference for City. There was something about Nasris performance today that was missing in the home games that have gone so wrong in the last month or six weeks, said Quinn. He brought an edge to it, he brought bite. Good challenging, good passing and creativity. He brought a smile to City fans faces today and he was excellent. He worked off the ball, he won tackles and he set things up. When he had the ball he was their most creative player. Niall Quinn on Samir Nasri Nasri certainly enjoyed the occasion. It was great to be back and to score that winning goal, especially after the result between Arsenal and West Ham, he told Sky Sports. I cannot explain how happy I am. I was a little bit dead at the end and that result is the best thing to do before [facing] Paris. When youve been out for long youre really hungry when you get back and you just want to prove to everyone that you have the quality for this squad, especially after all the new players that we had this year, he added. I wanted to give my contribution to my team. After months in the shadows, Nasri will now be hoping to finish the season strongly. And with Guardiola on his way to the Etihad Stadium, theres more than just league positions to play for.
